The BLADE is a two-seat flexwing in the traditional Mainair style. First built in 1994, with over 350 flying around the world today.
First solo around the world with champion pilot Colin Bodill, the Mainair Blade is a true thoroughbred with an impeccable pedigree. The aircrafts revolutionary wing features an 85% double surface with internal floating cross tubes and washout rods along with an in-flight trimmer for cruise speeds from 55mph – 68mph.
The trike unit is available with a full choice of Rotax engines and boasts a wide spacious pod with fully enclosed sealed nose-wheel and plenty of foot room
Additional features include a parking brake and both foot and T-grip hand throttles. Electric start is standard on the Rotax 582, 912 & 912S engines, with the Warp Drive propeller is standard for all engine options.
In the air finned wheel spats aid directional stability and aerofoil suspension legs reduce drag. The trailing link front suspension ensures a safe run-out even after a less than perfect arrival and the full all-round suspension will iron out even the roughest of fields.
For stopping power there are rear drum brakes, which also allow for easy power checks and precise ground control. In the air handling is exceptional, stable enough to cope with the roughest turbulence, but light enough for effortless flying.
